Instructor of: Aerial

About me: I am the owner and Lead Instructor, Miraas Aerial. I first learned the art of trapeze and aerial dance in New Orleans in 1997 where I co-founded Aerial Inc, an all female trapeze troupe. I have trained and taken workshops/classes with several respected aerial artists, including Elsie and Serenity Smith, former Cirque du Soliel trapeze artists and founders of Nimble Arts; Shayna Swanson, Elena Brocade, and Helena Reynolds of Aloft Loft; and Jayne Bernasconi. I have performed in many diverse venues, including the New Orleans Children's Museum, the New Orleans Contemporary Art Museum, Circus Von Amberg, the Kenner Family Festival, and DramaRama, the Oriental Theatre, and with Bands for Lands, Aerial Kaiju, OdAm FEI Mud, Cirque Voltaire, Englewood Family Fitness Day, and this summer is I will be working as trapeze and lyra trainer at the first ever social circus event in Israel and the Palestinian territories.

My dance and/or life philosophy: "I believes that all women find empowerment and increased self esteem and body awareness through aerial arts.  Nothing is sexier than strong!"
